About SPRC
The State Panchayat Resource Centre (SPRC), Tripura (formerly PRTI, A.D. Nagar), established in 1961, is one of the nation's most prestigious institutions. Initially founded to serve as a regional training centre for tribal and community development, SPRC now functions as the state-level nodal training centre for the R.D. (Panchayat) Department, offering training for the Sepahijala and West districts.
Currently overseen by the Directorate of (RD) Panchayat, Government of Tripura, SPRC is a nodal institute for training, research, evaluation, and consulting in rural development. The centre provides diverse training programmes, both on and off campus, for elected members of three-tier PRIs and officials from PR and other line departments.
SPRC also develops essential training modules for the state's three PRTIs (Kumarghat, Ambassa, and Udaipur) and the Directorate of RD (Panchayat). It has undertaken various case studies, research initiatives, and action research projects to further its commitment to rural development.
